QM2 Liverpool Salute.
Peter Bond | January 31, 2014 | Cunard | Queen Mary 2
The cruise was a success. In the main very enjoyable but there were a few niggles.
The first port was Cobh (Queenstown) with museums dedicated to Titanic and Lusitania. A beautiful town with lovely welcoming Irish people. The only problem was we berthed at Ringaskiddy and had to take a shuttle bus to Cobh (40 minutes). Dublin was a write off because of high winds and large swell. By the time the weather had calmed going ashore was not an option for independents.
Both Greenock and Oban tours were enjoyable. Weather could have been better but that’s something we have no control over.
The time in Liverpool was unique. Fantastic days, memorable and emotional for us scousers !!We arrived late in our last port, St Peter Port which allowed little time for independents to go ashore.
A great time on board QM2 with Liverpool the highlight.
