Xmas cruise

Joined the QM2 in Dec 2013 for a 5 day cruise visiting Belgium and France. The booking in process was faultless at Southampton, the check in time was shown as 14:30hrs, however we were aboard for 13:00. We had a balcony cabin which was lovely, nice size with the toilet/shower being larger than the Victoria. We were allocated a table for 6 for dinner, but after speaking with the ma??tre de and explaining we were aboard to celebrate our anniversary he sorted a table for 2 no problem. The food is excellent aboard, lots of choice, however drinks are on the expensive side. So off we sailed to Belgium, and on arriving made our own way to Bruges. This is very easy, quick shuttle bus to the station and a short train ride to the centre. I would recommend not booking the Cunard tour and make your own way, lots cheaper. The only trip we booked was to Hornfleur in France which we adore, but if there is a party of 4+ I would get a cab. The only real criticism I would have on the Mary was the afternoon tea set up. Everybody wants to attend and the queue are massive so not everybody got in, maybe two sittings would be better. We love sailing with Cunard, Victoria is our favourite ship so far and look forward to going again. Of course we’ll book through Bolsover, they’re pretty good at what they do!!
