Extremely Disappointed

Xmas Cruise 2022, Stateroom 7136

On arrival at the terminal we were greeted with mulled wine, Christmas cake and mince pies. Good start. We boarded the ship and decided to go to the Lido buffet whilst our luggage arrived. The first 4 (supposedly clean) dinner plates we picked up had food stuck to them! Dirty cutlery. Cereal bowls at breakfast also had food stuck to them.

When we went to our stateroom we were very disappointed at how small the bathroom was. The whole cabin was badly designed. When the ship sailed, the cabin was really noisy and everything rattled; earplugs were needed to get a night’s sleep.

We were amazed at the cost of drinks; a glass of wine $16, a bottle of wine $52, a complete rip-off.

We were told, on the second day, that the ship was going into dry dock in Cadiz for repairs, for 3 days, and we would not be calling at Lisbon. Very nice if you want to spend 3 days of a very expensive cruise in a dock yard!

The ship was tired looking, badly maintained and noisy (engine noise and vibrating even when we were in port). The Brittania dining room was particularly noisy and suffered from vibration whilst at sea.

Badly maintained ship, no visible cleaning of public areas during the cruise.

Most of the staff were amiable, but some were surly and downright rude. We cannot recommend Cunard on any level, 3-star at best.
