Brilliant Balmoral

We travelled on Balmoral in August and just had to write as we were so impressed by Fred Olsen, everything from start to finsih was spot on and more than sure we will be going again. We travelled with both sets of parents and wasn’t expecting much from a small ship but how wrong were we When we first opened the door to the cabin we all oooh’d, it was so lovely, very modern d??cor very large cabin, 2 singles made up as a double then a Z bed for Megan which went at the side of us, 2 lovely arm chairs and small glass table with a flower arrangement and a hand tied fruit basket which they replenished every day. Plenty of drawers and wardrobe space and a really good sized bathroom with bath and a shower over, sink with cupboard underneath to keep everything neat and tidy, there was a large pump hand wash and similar shower gel all smelling lovely from Cole & Lewis. We had cabin 1027 on deck ten, which was just perfect location, turned left out of the door and at the Spey or Avon restaurant, then if you turned right down the corridor a little and a flight of stairs up to the pool deck so really handy. Our cabin balcony was lovely the furniture on there a little dated, however we had 1 sun lounger with 2 chairs and a small table, the balcony could be overlooked from anyone walking over us on Marquee Deck but that was only really when the Ship was leaving port . All the public areas were really nice and I have to say I was really impressed by Freds. The food served in the Spey was delicious, could not fault any meal. We had the Andy Mills Brown the Cruise Director join us for dinner on the first formal night, he was really entertaining, he told us how they bought the meat in from America and you could tell, no skimpy steaks on here. We enjoyed all the evening entertainment overall a brilliant holiday on a lovely ship.
