Never again

Our first trip with Fred Olsen, previously cruised with Royal Caribbean and Princess. Will be last with Fred, and probably gas put us off cruising completely. Tried to cancel prior to trip as had read about repeated episodes of Norovirus on this ship, but it was too late and I took the decision to go rather than lose over 60% of my money. Wrong decision ! We started with the announcements from the Captain on day three – the virus had emerged. From then on things were marred by the feeling of being surrounded by illness and buckets of disinfectant – necessary, obviously. We had specialist cleaners flown in- all necessary but not pleasant. We had a small fire in the night, dealt with again, it took over four hours to tender everyone off at Stockholm. The entertainment was reminiscent of Hi-de-Hi – very second rate. The ships decor was tired and dismal. The food and dining service were very good however, as was the cabin housekeeping. Would I say it was value for money – absolutely not.
