Notes on cruises L1506,L1507 and L1508

On arrival at Southampton on the 9th of June,we were informed that antiviral restrictions were in place.This was unfortunate because we did not bring enough clothes for a 25 day cruise as we assumed we could use the laundrettes.This problem was solved by the cancellation of L1507 to allow the ship to be cleaned etc. This decision we understood and agreed with. We recieved good compensation for this,and also the offer of a taxi home which we declined due to the lack of public transport at home.Itwas arranged for our car to be retrieved from the car park and agreed that any additional costs would be reimbursed (this is now under consideration by Customer Relations)On our return to Southampton for cruise L1508 we enquired whether restrictions were in place.We were told “Yes,for 72 hours” We wonder if all passengers were told this because after unpacking we went to Palms Cafe and found staff trying to prevent people helping themselves.Later on we were very surprised to find the library open and people taking books out,we think someone slipped up there. The virus eventually returned and even the Captain complained that people were not obeying instructions.How is the virus getting on board? simple -people. Passengers not obeying the rules,dockside baggage handlers not wearing gloves (did any of them become ill?) Fred Olsen are doing all they can and we will carry on cruising.Cast off!!
