Sunny Norwegian Fjords

Our first time cruising, and probably won’t be our last. We went primarily to see the Fjords, rather than for a cruise.

The weather was superb, which made the scenery magnificent. The ship was full, but for the most part, we were able to get where we wanted and sit where we wanted. The entertainment in the lounges was really good – just a pity that most people were using it as ‘musical wallpaper’, and talking too loud. The food was excellent.

The onboard staff couldn’t do enough for you. Our one major disappointment was that we were advised by the tour booking office that my husband (with mobility and balance problems) shouldn’t attempt to get off the ship onto the launch – so we didn’t book the Flam railway trip for him (which was something he really wanted to do). However, when I disembarked via the launch there were several, much more disabled folk disembarking (one with a wheelchair). After my Flam railway trip I returned to the ship, told my husband what I’d seen, and then we both disembarked to the village and for a walk around (too late then for the rail trip). We will know another time, but too late for this trip.
