Braemar – Ibearian Cruise

We, as a family of 4 all really loved our time on the Braemar and I wouldnƒ??t hesitate on going back on it. I would probably try for a warmer time of year though as things are limited for the children in poor weather. That said, I’d go again tomorrow if it was my husband and I as we do appreciate the nicer things in life and being looked after as well as we were, has completely spoilt us. I canƒ??t even begin to compare a normal land based holiday to it which is a shame as we really canƒ??t afford another cruise for a few years!

The destinations were different too and we felt like we had a city break in Bordeaux as we were there for 2 full days, and is something only the smaller ships can do. We did meet other families on board and nobody complained at the lack of facilities as we all knew that Fredƒ??s aren’t geared up towards children. Because of this we went prepared with our own toys, iPad, dvds, etc. We spent more time together on this holiday as a family than any other holiday we have been on.

I could not fault the food in any way, the adult food was lovely and my children were given the kids menu every night, and then brought whatever dessert they fancied! The staff all learnt early on, that my daughter was addicted to Tucs Crackers and they made sure she had great selection after every meal, even at breakfast! They also made sure they did the kids boiled eggs perfectly. On the last day, they asked if she wanted one, and when it wasnƒ??t how she normally liked it, they went and did another without me requesting it, even though they were so busy! The only negative thing was the wine order sometimes took ages to happen as they donƒ??t have wine waiters anymore, so itƒ??s not really the staffs fault. You could avoid this by pre ordering via the interactive cabin TV; we didnƒ??t do this as we never knew if we’d be ready in time to eat in the main dining room.

The staff were so friendly and could not have been any more helpful and ensured that we as parents got to relax too. Thank you Braemar!
