This was my third cruise with Fred Olsen, and actually my second time on Braemar. The last cruise on Braemar was actually my first ever cruise I did and was over 10 years ago, with this in mind I was interested to see how much she had changed.

The initial thing I picked up on when walking round the ship was her size, she was bigger from when I was last on board and I actually found this quite noticeable, but not in a bad way.

The thing I love about all the Fred’s Ships is as soon as you step on board you are welcomed as though you are part of a family. I think this is such a great first impression. I definitely feel that the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and they made such a big fuss of my two girls.

As a family we did think we would spend more time eating in the Palm’s Café in the buffet as they had a kids corner from 6-7pm which catered really well for the kids and such a wide choice on kids favourites like sausage, fish fingers and pizza etc, but actually the kids preferred it in the Thistle Restaurant. The menu in the main restaurant was great, my little ones had their favourite meals each night – plus the waiter to our table was great and came straight over with the colouring sheet and colouring pens for them both.

The itinerary was lovely, visiting Bordeux, Santander, Aviles and Honfleur. Honfleur was definitely our favorite port, so pretty with a lovely harbour!
