The cruise had only one sea day, so it was a very intensive cruise. Messina was a disappointment, but all the others proved to be very interesting.. Our third cruise visit to Malta was once again fascinating and it should be on every Mediterranean itinerary, Argostoli was a mildly interesting stop and Corfu, our second Greek port, was excellent. The highlight of the cruise turned out to be a highlight . We were not sure of what to expect and we were fascinated by the arrival to the city and by the city itself. Dubrovnik on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment, it was too commercialised and too busy. Korkula was a delightful little town and worth the short stop and our last Croatian port, Split, was excellent. Whilst it was busy, there was a great deal to see and our day was enjoyable.
Finally, we came to Venice. Superb Venice! We stayed away from St Marks area and wandered the walkways throughout the city until our feet hurt-and we saw only bits of the fascinating city. Thank goodness Noordam stayed two days there, it was a wise decision. On day two we took an organised excursion to Murano and Burano which was well organised before setting off to the airport for our return home.
In summary, the cruise was busy and fascinating and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
