Cruise Review

Overall we had a great time on board the Gem. The ship was busy but we always found a quiet spot to soak up the sun. It was a bit loud and crazy around the pool area but easy to get away from it if that’s what you wanted. The food was very good although we preferred to dine in the formal restaurant as the buffet / self-service restaurant was extremely busy and sometimes difficult to find a table. We also ate at the Magenta and the Oriental, both were very good. There was also an Irish bar / restaurant which was open 24 hours and served burgers, wings etc. Great for a midnight snack if required. The entertainment was excellent, lots of variety and the resident entertainment team put a huge amount of effort in to tHe shows they performed. We really enjoyed all three of the destinations but it was always nice to get back on board. If there was one thing we missed, it would be an outside bar for that early evening cocktail. The only bar that was located outside was the pool bar which didn’t really fit the bill.
