First cruise with Oceania

The Marina really is a beautiful ship. I love the size as its not to large and impersonal. You cannot fault the service of the staff, they’re always on hand and are very professional, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing and anything you want can be arranged. We were told by our agent to pre book the speciality dining rooms (avail at no extra charge) on line beforehand and this is really good advice as although they can be arranged on board you have to have the slots still available, usually 6pm or 9.30pm etc.. and usually have to share a table.
The majority of passengers on my cruise to the Med were Americans & understandabley they were off each day on shore excursions. This meant staying on board was like having your own private yacht with servants!!
As the food is a big talking point on Oceania I found this was really the focal point of the evening. There was a show on in the theatre each evening which started around 9.45pm. As most passengers had done a full days sightseeing then had their evening meal most of them retired to their cabin. I found the ship quite deserted in the evenings so if you like plenty happening its maybe not the ship/itinerary for you. They do have a string quartet who were very good however as they played each evening from 6pm-9pm we usually just caught the end of their performance as we were having dinner.
The drinks & wine are quite expensive so it’s well worth looking at purchasing a drinks package.
I like the luxury of the ship, the good food, fantastic service & very friendly staff and the fact that although its a premium product the ship itself is still casual with the dress code being country casual/smart imformal.
I will certainly recommend to my friends & family and look forward to my next cruise with Oceania!!!
