Arcadia cruise to Venice Oct 2013
Robert Larter | September 8, 2013 | P&O Cruises | Arcadia
The cruise was our fourth with P&O since we started cruising in 2008. We’ve only cruised with P&O and we feel that standards and have fallen somewhat and unwelcome on board commercial activity has increased. Times are difficult for many but increased efforts to gain more cash from customers whilst on board will ultimately prove to be fruitless. However, the cruise was very relaxing and the staff were generally as friendly as ever and the food was excellent in the Meridian restaurant. The destination of Corfu was omitted owing to weather problems in Venice and the lateness of leaving Venice. We felt that leaving Venice 3 hours earlier would have allowed the visit to Corfu to take place but the captain had to make a decision, that we respect him for, and chose to have an extra day at sea cruising to Dubrovnik and missing out Corfu. Many passengers considered this an economic decision and an error of judgement by the captain.
