Arcadia – New Year Disaster

Our first time going away for the New Year and disappointing from the start. We had already had correspondence to say they had had an outbreak of Norovirus so the embarkment was going to be delayed for 2 hours so they could do a deep clean. I’m not sure where the deep clean took place but it certainly wasn’t in our cabin. The ship was well and truly understaffed. As the ship was running at full capacity it was extremely difficult trying to a table anywhere even just for a coffee. Service extremely slow, complimentary toiletries were watered down, no complimentary water, food not up to standard, my cheese souffle was more like a tasteless, firm, sponge ball! Out of the 3 couples that travelled together, 4 of us came down with Norovirus, my illness started New Years Eve so I didn’t get to celebrate New Years Eve or New Years day.
