Azura in Adriatic -Not my best cruise.

Arrive at Birmingham airport at 4.0. No on-line check-in means hundreds waiting with cases, push-chairs etc then poor organisation once in airport. At Malta collect cases then go to another desk and out to luggage van before finally getting on coach to ship. Cruise cards in cabin – but can’t go in for 2 hours so no chance to buy coffee or something stronger!
Room was clean and steward very friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating on outside decks and lovely sunshine in Malta and Sicily but weather in Adriatic ports very poor – strong winds and heavy rain. As Azura doesn’t have covered outside area there was little choice of seating. Many settled for tables in buffet.
After 8 cruises on Azura/Ventura we thought standard and choice of food in buffet and Dining Room had dropped a lot. Waiters seemed harassed with no time for the usual courtesies- help into seat, unfold napkin etc. the crew all worked very hard but the whole ship seemed understaffed. Azura is one of the older ships but when P&O expect passengers to use smart-phones for so many things, at least some USB ports should be provided in public rooms.
