Caribbean Cruise of 40 nights on Arcadia 9th November to December 19th 2022
Carol and Michael Froud | December 28, 2022 | P&O Cruises | Arcadia
Few ‘fun’events’ such as ’60’s’, and Great British Sailaways. Some excursions were fun, such as ‘Rum Runner’, but others were not.
TV’s in cabin were VERY disappointing, and the TV Guide had many errors such as inaccurate times.
Meridian Restaurant was closed on Port Days?
Leaving Caribbean islands and heading for Southampton involved five days at sea, this was too many considering that there was so little to do/occupy passengers, this was especially so during the afternoons.
Please – when will ‘Afternoon Tea’ return- offering scones in the buffet is NOT an alternative!
The ‘cut’s’ and ‘savings’ made by P&O may be small but certainly spoil cruising for many of us; eg Towels are VERY worn and thin [drying oneself proved tricky]. Toilet rolls have also been changed for some very cheap type which ‘are not suitable for purpose’.
Self-service laundry has been reduced in size to provide another cabin – this made the laundry too small, difficult for two people to pass.
Food was ‘satisfactory’, but certainly NOT the standard that we’re accustomed to, although the ‘Peninsular Caribbean Lunch was excellent’ [so it CAN be achieved!
Cabin, although dated, was satisfactory.
Entertainment; Headliners were great, as always. Others in theatre were ok, but entertainment around the ship could be improved.
Entertainment Team were not as proactive as used to be – this meant that sailaways were fairly mild and uneventful.
I was pleased that the day of my birthday was acknowledged with a small box of chocolates.
Being allowed to bring alcohol on board from excursions was a bonus too.
