Another amazing holiday!
Mr Robert Chantler | March 6, 2023 | P&O Cruises | Arvia
It was our first ever fly-cruise “Caribbean” and it was smoother than expected, easily talked through the process, Arvia is an absolute beauty just like her twin Iona which we previously went on.
Yes she is huge although she has much to offer with her 26 dining venues 5 pools and 6 theaters and lounges, she is the sunshine ship and her interior reflects this with accents of golds and teals throughout.
Arvia’s Rooms are spacious and clean, the ship is beautifully designed, various venues to go to throughout the day whatever you fancy doing, the food plenty to offer, from freedom dining right through to specialty dining where a small charge is incurred.
The food is nice although my niggle is just the horizon buffet; small choice of hot food and repetitive, only saw pasta the once on our 2 week stay? the night buffet can get chaotic with the shows finishing at the same time and people passing and bumping into one another.
I loved her new features i.e the sky dome roof being able to open up, the new concept restaurants and bars, the new activities that she offers mission control, sky walk altitude and mini golf.
Arvia offers a one of a kind rum distillery “Aurelia” in Anderson’s bar where you can see Arvia’s distiller Melvin at work making the ships Tidal and Golden tide rum on the Caribbean season; she then converts to a Gin distill in the summer Mediterranean season, Melvin also hosts a one to one Rum/Gin making class which you get to make your own personalized bottle to take home with you for around £62 all in!.
Arvia has a swim up bar which is a new concept, a new Vegan restaurant “Green and co” and a new sushi bar “Mizuhana”
Kids club provides plenty on a daily basis for ages 2 months right up to 17 year olds right through to 11pm.
Arvia has plenty of sunbeds around, yes of course you will find the sun side gets full pretty early but the shade side offers plenty.
Some if her aspects were not yet finished as maintenance touch ups were still taking place around the ship rewiring, sanding decks crew pool being worked on, nothing major really I suppose 24 hour upkeep is needed for a ship her size.
Staff were amazing anything you wanted was given with a smile on their faces.
Trips were amazing, try to book the ones with P&O different to the ones on shore, amazing memories that you with cherish forever.
Arvia is at full capacity now so to us slightly overcrowded outside on sea days apart from that we had a brilliant holiday! we have re-booked her so yes although she may be Iona’s twin but she is not Identical internally.
She is huge and the people who have cruised on her older sister’s are used to small and intimate, talking to them they do not like Britannia, Iona and Arvia so she may not be for everybody in terms of size.
Give her a try i’m sure you’ll find it in your heart to love her.
