Christmas & New Year maiden cruise on Arvia

At the start of 2020 we were supposed to be on a Caribbean cruise on Ventura that had to be changed due to the lockdown then again the following year so in a nutshell this cruise on Arvia was its 4th move & we hadn’t been away since 2019 ! We did not want or expect to be on a maiden cruise but as Arvia wasn’t ready for her 1st cruise it was cancelled! We then endured the 1st cruise which was in my opinion an endurance, loads of little things like no bathroom glasses in every cabin (none delivered) bathroom sink plug had to be fixed, shower leek & even after pulling out the cord to dry swim suits the cord wouldn’t go back. I felt that Arvia still wasn’t ready for paying customers & unfortunately we paid the price(in more ways than one) I could go on but I don’t want to belittle the hard-working (understaffed) workers they did an excellent job at trying to put things right & give us the best possible holiday considering the things that just weren’t right. As for things that have changed since last cruising with P&O in 2019 , 1) having to pay extra at the costa coffee for the cakes,2) no afternoon tea in main dining rooms, 3) no afternoons tiffin in sindu , 4) advertised frappe on the costa menu but told they don’t do them now, 5) no evening turndown therefore no chocolate on pillows that I used to keep to take home for the family; 6) each bar did separate cocktails so had to stroll around looking for the bar that could make the cocktail I like !! I really could go on & I haven’t touched on the problems like one corridor to 3 restaurants with no other way in or out causing a major crushing problem on celebration nights, & a fire announcement from the bridge !!! This has certainly been a memorable holiday
