Disappointing

Looked forward to join Arvia on Carribean cruise. Ship impressive being new but lacked atmosphere. Sunbed situation ridiculous, towels being put out from 6.00am and whilst it was supposed to be monitored and items removed this was rarely the case. People could not get a lounger or chair as there were not enough. The domed swimming pool was heaving and extremely loud with the volume emanating from the indoor screen showing films. Horizon restaurant utter chaos with people reaching across you trying to get food and then wandering around with a tray trying to find a seat. Food in Zenith and Meridian restaurants varied. Food quality, presentation has gradually declined over the years due, I suspect, to cost cutting. Many times the service was extremely slow (breakfast and dinner) and staff indifferent, to the point of them looking sullen or unfriendly. Ripples Ice cream bar ran out of ice cream by the 5th day and not getting supplies until back in Barbados some 9 days later. Breakfast in Zenith restaurant excellent when you got in! For those new to cruising it was wonderful but for those who have experienced past cruises the standard has declined. The ship was too big and not enough staff to cope as was experienced with the amount of people visiting reception to complain, mainly about the My Holiday App, failing to be able to book restaurants or the amount of time you have to wait for a table.
