MV Arvia MED 14th May – 28th May 2023
Mr Philip Marples | June 7, 2023 | P&O Cruises | Arvia
This cruise was our 19th with both Bolsover Cruise Club and P&O, Arvia is a nice ship but with 5,400 passengers on board it’s not great. Having to book for your entertainment and your food is again not good, we tried to get in the Meridian Fully Booked but on just one occasion over the entire cruise we actually did get in the Zenith. We arrived at 6pm on the menu nothing took our fancy so we asked if we could have Melon the answer NO because it was not on the menu, so we had the main course. We had now been in the Zenith around 90 minutes, we now ordered a sweet at 7.30pm please bear in mind we had a show booked for 8.30pm at 8.10pm the sweet had not arrived so we had to leave over 2 hours had passed now No starter No sweet NO tea or coffee. The sound level in the shows were very near to hearing damage, and they are getting very technical. To get in the show we had to queue up!!! On the cruise we had 6 ports of call 4 out of the 6 were in an Industrial port so shuttle bus needed. On Friday 19th we arrived at Mallorca (Palma), while queuing for the shuttle, three members of the crew just walked straight up to a bus and got on yet passengers had been waiting for 30 to 40 minutes, but the crew had priority!!!!! Now coming back to the ship, the queue was long very long and it was getting hot. Passengers had to queue for over 2 hours without cover or water and most were over 75. This cruise without doubt was the worst we have ever done with P&O, but for some reason we keep booking others!!!
Just one other point in the Horizon Restaurant we found that for some reason P&O had taken away the TRAYS so passengers had to carry their plate and at times it was very warm and the number of plates dropped over the cruise were many.
