Boring Aurora
Sonia Simmonite | August 12, 2019 | P&O Cruises | Aurora
Returned one week ago from a cruise to Canaries. How disappointed we were, this was our 5th cruise with P & O our 1st on Aurora.
Firstly the ports of call were not very good. On the whole we docked on the wrong side of each island and unless you paid the extortionate cost of the trips you were stuck in a not so good area for tourism.
On board we were so bored. There was a lack of atmosphere with no ‘holiday feel’. There was very rarely music in any of the public areas and the entertainment team were very subdued.
For the whole 12 days the guest speaker was the same man talking about steam ships!
My mum who was with us said she hasn’t been to the cinema as much since 60 years ago.
There were a mix of age ranges on board but it felt as if the very elderly people were being the ones catered for.
I can’t put my finger on it but there seemed to be an underlying feeling of discontent and cohesion amongst the staff.
Can’t be sure I would book with P & O in a hurry again.
