Cruise to Amsterdam but not

I boarded the beautiful Aurora and from the moment I stepped on board, I had a feeling that I was going to love this ship.

I booked a late saver and was delighted with my cabin allocation. It was a larger outside cabin. It had a sofa and a bath. It was so close to the terraced aft and close to the aft stairway and lifts. My cabin steward kept my cabin spotlessly clean. I only wish I could spend longer on board. My restaurant allocation was fixed dining. I hadn’t done this credit as preferred freedom dining. P&O allocated solo travellers on the same table there were 4 of us on an 8 seater table. The 4 of us got on so well, we’ve got each others contact details and are keeping in touch.

A day before the cruise, P & O emailed to say the lock gates into Amsterdam were being repaired, so we cannot get in, so we will be stopping in Ijmuiden and Zebrugge instead. I was happy with Ijmuiden as we were still going to Amsterdam, but the evening before going there, the captain said there weren’t enough buses to shuttle us in, so he’s taken the difficult decision to cancel and we were having a day at sea. So after booking a cruise to Amsterdam, we only went to Zebrugge.

I definitely will be going back in Aurora.
