More ticks off my bucket list
Veronika Pond | March 8, 2019 | P&O Cruises | Aurora
This was our second time with Aurora and our fifth with P&O and generally the boat had changed very little. As always the staff are the star of the show. The ship experienced problems in Tenerife which dogged us throughout the cruise so that we arrived late at some ports and one destination was missed out entirely. The Carnival ports were just an excuse for us to spend more money with them – not impressed at all. The Amazon was amazing, not at all what I was expecting but to see the butterflies and moths sipping the dew on the upper decks in the early morning was wonderful. My husband and I even got to play our kazoos in the Opera House in Manaus (1,000 miles up the Amazon). Hummingbirds in Jamaica, aerial tram ride in the rain forest in Costa Rica, wonderful gardens, the chance to have my picture taken with some fairly large birds all made it a memorable cruise.
