New Year to Hamburg

Our 1st cruise ever. With friends to Bruges and Hamburg for New Year. 2 complete days at sea was too much during a 5 night trip. On day 3, the ship proceeded at a snails pace, presumably to ensure we docked in Hamburg at a predetermined time. Cabin fever soon set in which was partially relieved by visits to the on board gym and lots of walks around the deck.
Whilst the fireworks in Hamburg were very good, there was little of the celebration we expected to be organised on board. The evening meal was good but delivered in a hurried manner – no time between courses.
We were really surprised at the massive price charged for using internet on board, so much so that we decided not to use it at all. There is no need for a ship this size to charge people for this everyday service which is as much part of life as electricity or water nowadays. Come On P & O, time to stop squeezing every last penny out of your clients.
Will we cruise with P & O again? We’ll have to think about that one….
