Azura – Black Sea

We have returned from a fantastic 24 days to the Black Sea. My Partner and I had a cabin on D deck D414 which had a lovely big balcony, but we were looked over from the balconies above. Fantastic cabin, our cabin steward worked very hard and always had a smile and a friendly word. We could not fault anything, the embarkation with P&O was effortless and organised. We ate in the Meridian restaurant on freedom dining, where the food was superb and the service was excellent. We were very worried about the size of Azura, but we loved it a she has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere with a good mix of age groups. We loved the layout of the ship and the outside space and had no problem wandering around the decks. The ports of call were excellent, especially Malta, as we got a fantastic welcome as it was Azura’s first visit. The very British Sailaway on our last port of call – Palma, was amazing, drinking Pimms, singing and everyone waving their flags and really enjoying the moment thanks to the brilliant entertainment team!
The trips booked onboard have got very expensive and it’s much cheaper to arrange trips before you go through the internet. Considering we were visiting Athens and Turkey during troubled times everything went really well. The weather was fantastic – no rain for 23 days! We always travel with P&O, but the Azura is now our favourite ship – Come on P&O lets hope Azura will go to New York and New England soon!
