Canaries Cruise 6 May 2018. Ship crawled from Southampton to Madeira apparently because originally scheduled call at Vigo had been removed from itinerary and nothing else substituted. This meant a 3 sea day voyage to Madeira – too much. Ship is in need of facelift if not a refit – tired cabin furnishings and carpets and very tired tables in Buffet. Consequence of new alcohol on board policy is lengthy queues to hand it in and collect it before disembarkation. Buffet food quality and variety downhill again.
On the positive side food in main restaurant much improved and the entertainment offering a lot better. On balance will avoid Azura until she is fixed. P&O might be better employed in operating existing fleet properly before throwing huge resources at introducing the latest behemoths.
