Azura Christmas cruise

Having been on this ship before 3 years ago and absolutley loved it it was certainly a change this time.
We loved the caribbean and think the islands the ship visits are wonderful. I would certainly recommend the caribbean to anyone!
The ship was beautiful so couldnt fault that along with the food but the service was well below what we had experience 3 years ago.

Service in the main restaurant was well below par in my opinion. compared to the last time we sailed with P&O. On several occasions we did not receive our wine until Dessert!. Service in the bars was generally good but again on occasion we had to ask several times to be served.
The food in the main restaurants, grill and buffet however was always fantastic with a good range of options to suit all tastes.

Our real disappointment was in Sindhu, having been on this ship 3 years ago and loved this restaurant it was hard to believe how much the standards have dropped regarding service. Firstly having paid extra for this restaurant I find it disgusting that we waited 30 minutes in the bar without being offered a drink, also we were taken to our table when it was not ready and still in the process of being cleared. After asking for another glass of wine half way through dinner it then took 20 minutes to arrive. The food however was exceptional and we really enjoyed the different flavours, unfortunately this was not enough for me to keep my second reservation in this restaurant and we cancelled it. I’m almost certain this was a one off occasion as the maitre de all week everytime he saw us kept apologising and trying to get us to come bcak in and see the ‘real Sindhu’ !

Choice of food in Sindhu, Seventeen and Glass house was fabulous. I also think the prices for these restaurants are very reasonable for what you get (if the service is on par) we honestly could not fault glass house or Seventeen they were incredible and I am hoping we caught Sindhu on a ‘off day’
Room service unfortunately was very poor. Only a couple of options on the menu and it were as if we were served the left-overs, the bread was hard and stale and un-eatable to be honest. The hot food was ok but very bland. Itƒ??s a good job we only used the room service for a small snack and not a full meal.
The pool grill was excellent with a good choice on offer always cooked fresh in front of you along with the pizzeria too.

As a ‘younger-ish’ couple we did find the entertainment to be aimed at the older passengers, things like afternoon quizzes and bingo did not really tempt us! along with the evenings filled with elton john tributes and niel diamond! they were very good but not our cup of tea!

we did like the sea screen playing all the new movies, however not a big fan of the football being played all day on it! we couldnt use that area of the ship as it was so noisy with all the shouting! i understand people are devoted to football but do they have to take up an entire deck and all day to boot!

i would go back to the caribbean on this ship as there was plenty of deck space for sunbathing etc . . and the food was awesome!

all in all enjoyed the cruise,

just be aware drops in prices seem to have made drops in service in my opinion. for the price i cant fault it though!
