Azura cruise
Clare. Whittleston | June 15, 2019 | P&O Cruises | Azura
Our cruise was on Azura 16/10/15 for 2 weeks. Unfortunately we didn’t have good weather for the first 6 days of the cruise. The stop in Vigo was on a Sunday so nothing open, cloudy skies and rain so no point staying out, back to the ship. Thank goodness we had a balcony cabin, didn’t sit on it much due to the poor weather but at least we could see the outside world! In Gibraltar we had non stop really heavy rain from arriving to leaving. In Lisbon we took a trip to Estoril, nothing much to see, had the feel of a seaside resort closing down for the winter, again, no sunshine. Our other trip was from Monaco to Nice by coach then back to Monaco to board a land train which took us all around Monte Carlo. Due to heavy traffic we only had 40 minutes in Nice so not long enough to have a good walk about. Total waste of money, very disappointing, however it was at this point that the weather got better and we did get some sun at last.
The food on Azura was adequate, no need to go hungry. Unfortunately there was yet again an outbreak of Norovirus on the ship, (the same as last year when we were on this ship.) I wonder do all ships suffer from this virus or, are some more prone than others?
Would like to see some new ports of call introduced to the Med. selection. P&O seem to use the same itineraries all the time. Palma, Ibiza, Cyprus, Malta, Greek Islands would make a nice change.
All in all we were happy to be on holiday but think we might take a break from cruising, it did at times feel like Butlins at sea.
