Azura Cruise February 2013
Siddo | November 9, 2013 | P&O Cruises | Azura
Yes, what happened to Guadalupe? We too thought this was a big disapointment as it was one of the islands we had not visited and was one of the reasons we booked this cruise. Quite a few things have changed with P&O over the last few years with regards to cost cutting and trying to squeeze even more out of you when on the cruise. Even with the latest tipping procedure which goes straight onto your on board account statement before you have had time to unpack your cases.
I asked a couple of the staff if they were happy with this new approach to tipping and of course they said yes, but I still wonder whether this is a good idea as I feel the staff are not going that extra mile knowing their tip is already taken. I supose its all down to the success of Freedom Dining and passengers not having the same waiters for two weeks.
But you can opt out if you want to and leave your tip as before, handing it to your steward and waiters.
I have got to mention the flights, as already pointed out from other reviews you have to pay even more if you want to sit together on the plane and a lot of people were split up on our flight including us. I find the planes used (First Choice) are getting rather tired and there are not enough toilets, only three, the rest are in Premier Class. For example out of three seats on the row we were sitting only one reading light worked on this nine hour flight.
These are just a few niggling things and don’t be put off as the Azura is a very nice ship and we had a pleasant and exciting two weeks cruising in the fantastic Caribbean, with that beautiful sun, sea and sand but changes are being noticed with P&O by us.
Pass me another Rum Punch.
