Azura Fjords Adventure
Grant Stothard | August 11, 2015 | P&O Cruises | Azura
We took this cruise as a present to our 12 yro grandaughter for excelling at school. I was very put out when the itinerary was changed and we would not be going to Flaam. We went to Scholden instead, why? There were about 30 houses, two shops and a hotel as well as 10yds of pebbles that they called a beach. On top of that it rained so walking around was a no-no. To be honest it was a waste of time and fuel getting there. Bergen was OK but again the rain spoiled it, it absolutely poured down and we all got soaked walking back to the ship. Azura is a friendly ship, ideal for families with children of all ages catered for. We were extremely fortunate to be given an upgrade to a suite. This made our cruise a fantastic experience, especially for our grandaughter on her first cruise. The extra space and butler service was great as well as being able to use the speciality restaurant Seventeen at breakfast. Seventeen offers a different menu to the other dining rooms along with very attentive waiters. The entertainment in the Playhouse was great,I couldn’t say what happened in the other venues because by the time the show finished in the Playhouse and the time it took to walk the length of the ship, the venues were filled by passengers from the second sitting. The staff on Azura were very friendly and helpful, our two table waiters were absolutely fantastic, probably the best we have had in our 15yrs of cruising. Nothing was too much trouble, they even fetched two capuchino coffees from a coffee shop every night because the machine in the Orient restaurant was broken. As usual, Eavesway Travel provided an excellent coach service as usual, even finding roots to get around traffic problems on the motorways, on both journeys. Their coaches are by far and away the most comfortable and their drivers are always friendly and keep passengers informed of any issues that may arise, as well as giving accurate venue times.
Finally it goes without saying the excellent service provided by BCC staff. We have been with them since 1998 and have not found another company that can compete with them. The excellent one – one service is probably unique, being able to speak to the same person all of the time breeds confidence and is also very helpful to new passengers.
