Azura Greek Islands – Ship comfortable but getting tired

7 night cruise on Azura from Malta to Greece. Smooth embarkation. Staff all friendly, polite, professional, but some shortness of staff meant dining room service a bit slow and confused at times and some waiting for service. Ship comfortable on deck, bars and cabin, but it is getting a bit tired and rough around the edges – cracking around pools, some smelly loos, dated decor. Some cosmetic work taking place, but needs a more thorough update. Entertainment good from various acts, but end up with only 1 Headliners show and it wasn’t as good as seen on Britannia, not just for the smaller stage area and staging potential. Main thing that let the cruise down was the very limited drinks menus and lack of various drinks to make cocktails. You coldn’t just choose a drink on a whim from the menu or ask them to make it – liquors running out, drinks not on the system and staff said they had to implement menus immediately without the supplies or system updates. A shame as clearly not the bar staff’s fault. Overall seems a need for more staff and more management/ supervision of those staff working to support them and provide the standard of service people expect. A lot of talk aboard of standards not as they were, of cutbacks and a need to return to former standards as other lines are overtaking P&O. Probably wouldn’t sail on Azura again as prefer the slightly larger, fresher Britannia with deck and inside areas better set out for our preferences.
