caribbean Hi lite
sue and bob caile | August 13, 2013 | P&O Cruises | Azura
We have just returned from our first visit of the caribbean it was a wonderfull holiday, the people of the caribbean couldn’t do
enough to help me enjoy their islands. I have restricted mobility and they were truly helpful.
The Ship was spotless and the meals were great we did not have one bad meal, we ate in the peninsular restaurant it was lovely to be waited on. My only complaint is that we were placed to far across the room and i found it hard with walking, the on board medics
lent me a wheelchair to get around which made it an obstacle course getting around the room and we found the staff inflexible
on moving us to another table, also we were on a table for 8 and we felt isolated as no one else was with us so the point of meeting new people was lost, again they would not move us as everyone was now settled with their new companions.
Our Cabin was good, i was concerned i might feel closed in as it was our first time in an inside cabin but as we were only in it to sleep and change it worked out well. But here again i asked for a cabin near lifts because of my mobility issues and was assured that we would be ok, however we were at the end of a very long corridor and by the end of the 2nd day i was near crippled, we spoke to people on the criuse who said they would have been happy to swop but we found the staff although generally helpful were inflexible to my problem so this took away some of the pleasure from what would have been a perfect cruise they really need to learn to listen more to their customers needs. We needed to use the chair off the ship as well but we were not allowed to take it off so walking off the dock side was a real challenge, i had to beg lifts from dockers or just plain struggle to get to taxi area’s. but despite all this we had a great time and would do another cruise at some point in the future. just make sure if you have restricted mobility that you are
certain at start of booking that you get what you need don’t get caught out like we did.
