We really enjoyed our cruise on Azura and met some lovely like minded people.
It was a shame we were unable to dock in Madeira due to the fires there but our thoughts were with those on Madeira. An extra day at sea did make it a long time when added on to the 3 days already at sea!
We enjoyed all the other ports of call and also the camel ride and segways experience which were booked via P&O. These were well organised and informative.
We booked in to the Retreat for the duration of our holiday, which we found comfortable and quiet . Service , on the whole was very good, however, the hot water for tea and coffee did run out often and teabags, milk, cups and spoons were not always replenished as often as could be. The staff in the Oasis Spa were accommodating, helpful and polite to those using the Retreat. We did feel that as an area for adults, the oasis pool would have been better accessed via the Retreat so that only adults were using it. Also those using the Retreat had to go out of the area to get to the pool-not a big deal but we just felt it would have been best to have this as part of the Retreat. We found that often Parents were in this pool with their children and younger adults stood around in the pool while adults were attempting to swim? If this is an adult pool then maybe the rules shown should not say that children should be accompanied by Parents? Maybe there should be an age restriction of 18 and over? Only a small niggle on the grand scale of things as children on board this cruise were well behaved and polite.
We were impressed with the Beach House restaurant and also enjoyed the Epicurean , however, our favourite remains the Glasshouse! We had a wonderful evening and great experience on their taster evening and will certainly do this again. Staff in all the restaurants and bars onboard were excellent, as was our cabin steward Noel.
A choppy windy voyage at times, but well managed by the Captain and Crew!
We had a lovely relaxed holiday, thanks to all who made this possible.
