enjoyable but with a few niggles

To start with the positives, the cabin and steward were good. Richard brought ice every day as requested and kept the cabin in good order. The food in the Meridian was enjoyable and the service was good. Could do with a few more wine waiters but cut backs are evident. Didn’t think much to the quality of food from the grab and go fridge or pizza bar. Thought the entertainment wasn’t as good as on previous cruises.

The black tie night was held on the 30th December instead of new years eve which seemed rather bizarre. The allocation of tables and sittings for news year eve was shambolic. There was a pervading odour of sewerage around the ship and I would say she is in dire need of the refit. The service in the hairdressing salon was dire and led me to cancel 2 bookings. It was a very busy boat with large family groups as you might expect at this time of year, however, there does seem to be more a heavy drinking culture that we have seen before. Maybe this is due, in part, to the very expensive drinks package perhaps a case of getting their monies worth. Despite announcements to the contrary sunbeds were still being reserved from early morning. Standards do seem to have slipped and PO need to up their game in respect of policing inappropriate behaviour eg jumping the in pool fully clothes, girls wandering around the atrium in bikinis.
