Fjords and force 11
Rachel | May 14, 2018 | P&O Cruises | Azura
We have just returned from the fjords on Azura. A storm up to force11 wasn’t a good start but we coped! The crew were supportive and understanding but perhaps the captain could have been a little more communicative and reassuring for the passengers ( especially those first timers – we had friends who were). Azura creaked and banged a lot as it rolled. That was quite scary! We found that Azura is quite a crowded ship – there aren’t a lot of open light and airy places to rest on sea days if it’s not good to be outside. The cinema outside was really a wasted resource on a cruise like this. The crew and stewards were polite and worked hard, the cabin was clean and looked after well but is getting ready for a refurb ( the towels were rather weary for example).
Visiting our first call Haugersund on a public holiday was a wasted port of call.
We enjoyed the cruise but probably wouldn’t choose Azura again – rather too big, dark and tight in places.
