P & O Cruise A805A

The main reason for booking the relocation cruise from Barbados to, initially, four Caribbean islands and the Azores, was the fact that we had never visited the Azores. Two days before we set sail, I received an email to say that we were only going to three, not four, Caribbean islands and not going to the Azores at all. Ponta Delgada being deleted from the itinerary was a major disappointment. We have visited the Caribbean islands five times previously, but had never been to the Azores.
The flight out to Barbados on a Thompson Dreamliner was brilliant. We paid extra to upgrade to Premium Economy and were so pleased we did.
We were on the Azura cruise to the Greek islands last year, so we knew our way around the ship. We are pleased that the number of P & O Cruises we have taken has now qualified us for Atlantic Tier. We paid extra this time to upgrade our cabin on the ship and the cruise was very good. There were a lot of “sea days” because we did not stop off at the Azores, which we wanted to see and would have broken our journey.
We feel both satisfied and also dissatisfied, if we had known when booking this cruise that it would miss out the Azores, then we would have chosen a different cruise.
We consider that we should receive some sort of compensation, as this was not the itinerary that we had initially booked. We were looking forward to this cruise and, in particular, finally visiting the Azores.
