Southampton to Barbados, positioning cruise. October/ November 2015.

The departure was delayed to Winter Virus outbreak, and the ship was sanitised for the first 7 days. This caused several problems which the ships staff dealt with very well. However it resulted in various venues being closed, including the library, which meant I had to spend money buying books. My main dissatisfaction was the lack of comfortable areas to sit and have quiet enjoyment apart from my cabin. The Atrium provided seating but the lighting was inadequate at certain times of the day for reading. The long haul to the Caribbean was therefore tedious.
The good news was the high standard of entertainment, the Headline company and the singers were excellent, as were the lectures on Concorde. The food was good, the fine dining first rate. The service in the bars, cabin and dining room was exceptionally good, especially as they were coping with the deep cleaning due to the virus outbreak.
Tours- st Kitts excellent.
Ports- St Lucia awful felt unsafe./ St Martin good/ Greneda excellent/Barbados excellent.
Cabin good. Balcony good.
Did not like atmosphere of ‘big ship’ will choose smaller next time, P&O coped well in difficult circumstances.
