Still good but signs that a makeover is needed are everywhere

I have enjoyed cruising aboard Azura previously and did also enjoy this cruise.

The food is good and varied, the staff that I met were, without exception, outstanding, but the ship herself is in need of a makeover, the signs are everywhere, and you don’t have to look hard. Balcony furniture is stained and worn, some soft furnishings in the lounges are in need of deep cleaning, and the wire wrapped chairs in the pool bars are looking decidedly tatty with wire unravelling on many of the chairs. This is not surprising ,considering the amount of constant use that they get, but the yard-stick that I use is the same that I would use at home, and that is “Would I be happy to have these in my garden for my friends to use?” and the answer is “Probably not!”. If they were mine, I would certainly be planning to replace them, SOON! The cruise was generally pleasant, the shows average, and the service excellent. However, a serious rethink on the disembarkation procedure seems to be a matter of some urgency. There does seem to be some sort of plan in place, but it doesn’t work well at all. There was a danger of the whole procedure descending into chaos at one stage and many of the staff along the disembarkation route seemed to have no authority at all and were letting people move almost as and when they wished.
