Having been loyal to P&O for many years, I felt the need to say how totally disappointing this cruise was.
Firstly to mention that Britannia like-for-like cabins are now notably smaller than on earlier ships (Balcony wasn’t worth having) which meant that some facilities have disappeared.
The choice of menus in all the standard restaurants was very poor, as well as sometimes served cold. That meant the only way to get decent food was to pay extra for it in the speciality restaurants.
Entertainment was mainly presented by P&O staff and that wasn’t really worth watching completely through.
Staff generally were pleasant and polite but most weren’t always able to provide positive information when asked. Can’t really criticise them but probably supports strong rumours that a lot of the experienced staff had been transferred onto the 2 newest ships launched late last year???
All-in-all I’m afraid P&O have bitten their bullet by cutting far too many corners in their attempt to recover lost profits during the Covid crisis.
Although cruise prices have been increased, their overall quality of service has diminished significantly more.
Sorry to say that if they chose to continue stay that route then they’ve made a big mistake. Numerous other passenger we spoke to felt much very much the same.
