Britannia – Canary and Madeira Cruise 27/9/16

We booked this cruise quite late, we had heard good and bad about this ship. We were pleasantly surprised. Our cabin was on G deck at the back, unfortunately above the live lounge. The draw back from that was when the disco was on late at night the bass in the music was loud, on one occasion the bed seemed to be jumping. I have left a comment on the ships review at the end of the holiday- saying that the dj ought to spend a night in our room to hear the noise.
We missed the White Wall Gallery and the pictures along the corridors to the cabins.
In the Atrium there is no central lift, just a staircase , which was fine for us but not for people who had difficulties. There are the normal lifts for less able (midship).
We don’t think we would like to be onboard in the summer months, as the main pool area is noisy. We are not fuddy duddys but the noise was horrendous.
There was plenty choice to eat in the horizon grill, and plenty of choice where else to eat if you didn’t want the set dinning. We sat on a table of 6, and the waiters and wine waiter were very good. I think they deserved a rest after we got off.
Ports off call were also good, and some were within walking distance.
Overall a very good time was had by us, and would go on her again. As said before we were sceptical – we normally don’t do large ships but Britannia was fine.
