Britannia in the Fjords

We had a fantastic time on the beautiful new ship Britannia. The decor and general features of the ship are excellent and give the impression no expense has been spared. We were fixed dining in the stylish Oriental restaurant and the food was of a high standard. The staterooms and balconies are a little smaller than on say Celebrity but are well designed with good hanging space and proper glass showers in the bathroom. Food in the horizon buffet was also very good and we always found a table for four. The curries at lunch time were lovely !
Down points – the lifts can be busy but nothing like as bas as some reports. It can also be irritating that there are no stairs mid-ships if you just want to get a couple of floors up or down. The theatre also seems a little small for the numbers.. The atrium is beautiful but lacked any atmosphere and had the feel of a waiting room. The ship seemed to lack any house band or musicians who could crop up in various venues, such as the atrium, for a bit of entertainment. We enjoyed dancing in the crystal room although it was a shame the numbers were limited.
All in all we had a great time and P & O have redeemed themselves after we had a bad cruise on Arcadia and swapped to Celebrity or Cunard.
