What a beautiful ship with such poor staff. Does anyone from the cruise companies read customer reviews and try and make thing better for the next customer. Looking at other people’s reviews of this ship a lot of people have the same views.
We have cruised many times and the entertainment on this ship was very very poor. The entertainments team was made up of 80% young camp males giggling between themselves who walked round the ship in pairs oblivious to customers no interaction whatsoever. The daily quiz around the pool was very amateurish. The same artists appeared in the theatre on more than one evening. Many had been on the ships last year . Limelight Club with Jackie Graham good but she was accompanied by a pianist that drowned her voice out and did not complement her. We thought for the ?22 surcharge she would at least have had a backing band.
Sailaway party’s poor no flags or atmosphere. The Pulse Band were very good .
We were on MyTime dinning but after the first couple of days avoided the Meridian Restaurant as the organisation there was very poor. One evening we were led in by the waiter and the staff could not find the table so we had to stand amongst dining guests whilst someone located it. Service was slow. We sat a long time whilst waiters seemed to be hanging about in pairs with nothing to do whilst our absent waiter appeared. Food was exactly the same as Ventura and Azura earlier this year. Outside grill at lunchtime was very much improved with food items wrapped to eat round the Pool. The new Grab and Go facility was not open at all.
Compared with other ships in the fleet the shops were bigger but full of much more high end merchandise ?300 handbags etc and very little mid priced goods suitable for gifts.
Balcony cabins were smaller but very nice. Large TV screen with sky and many free films on demand was an improvement
Far more seating around the ship at night and the seating and dining area outside at the back of the ship much bigger and much improved. We did not have a problem with fewer lifts at all.
And finally we were amazed at the captain in hi speeches over the tannoy. Never before have we heard staff telling the passengers the weather forcast in such a damming manner. Describing the size of the swell in the waves to come and how much the ship was going to list to one side. Any first time cruisers would have been worried when it was fine. and nothing to be worried about. People were not rolling around as his description forcast .
