CARRIBBEAN WESTERN ISLES (FEBRUARY – MARCH 2018)
MR C WRIGHT | December 7, 2018 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
OUR FIRST CRUISE WITH P&O,
ALL DESTINATIONS WERE GOOD, CRUISE WAS PLEASANT AND IN MOST CASES ENJOYABLE, NOT A HAPPY CREW MOST OF THEM LOOKED AS IF THEY DIDN’T WANT TO BE THERE, EVEN SOME OF THE OFFICERS FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOU. FOOD IN GENERAL WAS GOOD, ENTERTAINMENT REASONABLE, SAIL AWAY PARTIES SUPERB. ALTHOUGH BRITANNIA IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD IT IS ALREADY SHOWING SIGNS OF TIREDNESS IN VARIOUS AREAS, HAND WASHING FACILITIES AT THE ENTRANCES TO THE “CANTEEN” HORIZON AREA, ONLY 50% WERE IN OPERATION, TAPS WERE LOOSE, OBVIOUSLY A LACK OF MAINTENANCE, BUT TO BE IN THAT SITUATION FOR 2 WEEKS I WOULD SAY WAS UNACCEPTABLE.
THE MOST ANNOYING PART OF THE CRUISE WAS THE DRESS CODE, ALTHOUGH P&O HAS JUST INTRODUCED NEW DRESS CODE STANDARDS UNFORTUNATELY THESE WERE NOT ADHERED TO, FOR ME VESTS WITH OR WITHOUT LOGOS ON ARE A NO – NO IN THE DINING AREAS, WITH REGARDS TO THE FORMAL EVENINGS IF YOU DON’T WANT TO DRESS UP THEN DON’T ATTEND, I WOULD NOT EXPECT JEANS AND T-SHIRTS ALLOWED FOR EVENING WEAR, AS A PREVIOUS GUEST COMMENTED HE COULD GO TO HIS LOCAL PUB DRESSED LIKE THAT.
ALL IN ALL NOT TO BAD BUT WILL PROBABLY STICK WITH CELEBRITY CRUISES
