Cruise with P and O
Lorraine Gregory | December 4, 2015 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
As I am not a fan of P and O the recent cruise we did on Britannia did nothing to change my views on P and O. That said I feel the cruise was good value for money. The itinerary was very good with the exception of Isle Margarita. It was clearly unsafe to go onto the island as some of the passengers confirmed on there return to the ship. I understand on visits to shopping malls they had an escort. Our brief visit onshore on the islands we soon realised our best option was to return to Britannia quickly. Lots of passengers complained about the island however when I reported to reception the concerns we had about the island I was told in three months visiting the island they had not had any complaints!!!!
The ship although new was not a design that we feel was as user friendly as it could have been and it was subject to discussion throughout the cruise, a hot topic you might say.
The lack of stairs around the main lift created quite long waits for the lifts.
The food in the main dining room was very average. The service at times was slow and not of a very professional standard.
We did not have any issues getting a table for two throughout the cruise which was a plus for us.
The Epicurian restaurant was good for afternoon tea and evening meal. Although not to the standard of other specialised restaurants I have experienced on other ships. The Beach House and the Glass House was good and we used them, however we do not mind paying the small tariff but not everyone shared our view.
Although we will not proberbly cruise with P and O in future we can never say never.
The advert for Britannia in my view with Rob Bryson is over hyped.
I would think in future we will cruise with the American ships hopefully the Oceania line finances permitting.
