Disappointed
Ann Greaves | January 8, 2023 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
We have done Christmas Caribbean cruises since 2006, mostly with P&O and 2022 was on Britannia, the first time on the ship since 2019 because of Covid. We noticed lots of cut backs in the facilities on board -eg Captain’s welcome replaced by a voucher for a glass of 2nd rate Prosecco, no evening turndown etc, balcony not cleaned, top decks outside “cleaned” with filthy mops, Peninsula club evening party advised too late to alter dining plans already booked, Epicurean restaurant lacking in atmosphere and quality of food, some drinks in bars unavailable towards the end of the trip.
The staff did their best and some were excellent. The ship was not full even though the official line was that it was. Horrendous journey to the ship. We are reviewing what to do regarding Christmas 2023 even though it is already booked.
