Few Niggles
Helen Smart | March 6, 2017 | P&O Cruises | Britannia
Although we enjoyed the overall cruise-(we love the Caribbean!) We were somewhat disappointed with “Britannia” – the Ventura is far superior in regards to the layout – there are bits on the Britt. where its awkward to get to and you need to work out that you have to go up or down on a staircase then along then back up or down. The hyped up Atrium was underwhelming compared to the Ventura, just one spiral staircase which had no “Wow” factor and you may get almost to top and there would be a photographer setting up for a formal photo up and waving you to either come up quick and move or go back down, not good!! Our dining room – Oriental – only one entrance and dining room seemed old fashioned/dark and tables poked away at sides to view for these tables not good for special nights, must admit we were happy with our very central oval table for 8. Usual game of seeking the sunbeds but that is expected on all ships on sea days, although they do seem to be laid out production fashion and not easy getting between. Cabins comfy and satisfied apart from lighting over bed – nicee and bright but not much good if one of you wants to read and the other would like it dimmed as no individual lighting. Shopping- clothes prices all expensive – they really need to look at bringing in a more moderate range-much as I liked a few things I’m not going to spend ?150.00 on a whim for a top. The theatre size is not big enough for this many passengers, the Casino is smaller, the Live lounge not big enough, not enough seating so people stand in front of you and seating not well laid out,
It seems as if I’m having a right old moan… but we chose P & O as we always found them good value for money – the drinks in bars are comparable to home pubs etc. and as I said the cruise overall was good – just these niggles
Probably would not book Britannia again
