First Staycation Cruise

We booked this cruise through our favourite cruise agents Bolsover. As usual received first class service. As we live in North Wales and are still very concerned about COVID we decided to drive down on the Sunday 22nd August. No problem on roads and arrived at testing area 45mins early so we had to park up and await the slotted time, when that came we went straight through no problem and await result which came through in 20 mins. Then drive to Ocean terminal to park car and board Britannia. This took just over the hour but well organised. Once on board report to muster station to register and then to cabin to unpack. Once this done went for drinks we did notice a price increase from 16 months earlier but to be expected I guess. Downloaded the App as directed but could not get wifi above deck 6 this was one of the downfalls we found. So went to reception and booked Glass House and Sindhi no problem at all. First night meal in Glass House fantastic to say the least good choice, great service and good choice of wine. Then to show to see Astonishing this show is as the title we both love magic so this was up our street. So to bed after after a long day after first using the room service breakfast menu. Day 2 arrived breakfast delivered on time and then up to serenity pool on deck 17 to take in the good weather rather windy though on this deck but stuck it until lunchtime and went to Horizon buffet again well organised great choice but they now serve you instead of help yourself. We then went down on deck 16 in the sun and less wind, went to cabin later for a G and T and get ready for evening. Sindhi tonight this has changed now you pay by course and not a fixed charge much better in our opinion. Food fantastic as always. Then showtime Michael Buble experience. Ok I guess songs and band ok he was not so good. This was 10.30pm show so off to bed. Day 3 breakfast in Horizon fab choice yet again then my wife had a spa appointment so went and had coffee. Later went to deck 16 and sat in sun and had our drinks. Celebration night tonight so free drink for everyone. Lovely to see most people dressed up in DJs and dresses. Meal in Meridean tonight h as d to wait about 30 mins for table and had to share but great company. No show tonight for us so had a couple of drinks in Atrium and then to bed. Day 4 breakfast again in horizon weather not so good so decided to pack a little and wait till sun came out this it did about 11.30 so went on deck and sat for a few hours, then went for lunch in Meridean lovely it was too well served and good choice. Then stayed on deck and took in sun relaxing. Evening meal again in Meridean this time it took a long time to get served we were there over 2 and half hours.Then sat in Atrium and saw the Trawlermen fantastic. Then off to finish packing and get cases out ready for collection. Disembarkation was well organised as was picking up car. Great journey home.
We’re there issues yes WI Fi, too many people on when we were told 50 per cent capacity. Not enough staff.
Would we do it again yes definitely.Would we book with Bolsover who else we have been using them for 8 year now and always had first class service.
