Great first week, then the noisy neighobours arrived

Friendly, professional staff, good shops/sales, food and choice of drinks, clean public areas, poignant remembrance day service, some good shows/acts in the evening.

The service was good overall, though occasionally patchy – during busy times, such as in Brodies and also in the restaurant our wine waiter seemed slightly overwhelmed by demand sometimes. On one evening we were unable to find him to ask for one of the bottles we had purchased as a package prior to the cruise.

We did have cause to (reluctantly) complain at reception twice about the noise from the next cabin in the second week (we could tolerate the new-born waking us up twice in the night, crying for a feed, but found the frequent banging, screaming/screeching of a toddler running back and forth excessive.)
We were offered ear plugs (declined,) wine (declined,) and a meal in one of the fine dining restaurants – which, as we had already booked accepted the charge being waived.
We would gladly have moved cabins for the second week, but were advised none available (We did not need to ask.)
In terms of customer service, I feel the staff could have been more pro active in monitoring/dealing with this.

We had already booked our next cruise on board before this issue arose.
