Never Again !!!

Just returned from 2 weeks on the Brittania P & O biggest and best new cruise ship. The cabin allocated A102 was brilliant, above the bridge, below the crows nest with a view to the bow and a 3x balcony.
Problem – cabin was not ready on arrival – our steward joined the same day. !!!!

The ship did not have enough capacity in the Retreat. Our late arrival + busy embarkation precluded my wife & I from taking this ! The result was very limited sunbathing – the top deck may have enough sunbeds but it did not seem like it – one morning saw a lady take 2 blue towels + 2 of their own towels thus reserving 4 beds (how selfish!!!) whilst we were on the way to breakfast !!

Ate for the most part in the Peninsula Restaurant – Breakfast + Evening Meal. The Horizon Court had “themed” evenings – with limited appeal. Past cruises it was more of a Smorgasboard – a bit of everything for everybody.

The main deck did not have a “walkaround” facility. Access at the lower levels was extremely limited – mainly confined to smoking areas. This just led to the top decks LIDO areas being very overcrowded, etc. With nearly 4,000 people on board it felt more & more like a 1970’s “Benidorm” package Holiday – not cruising as it should be. !!!

Our past cruises seemed to have more to do eg Entertainer’ s in the Atrium pre Dinner. General Impression that crew were not happy – just doing a job. Too my mind – just something missing I cannot put my finger on it.

On the whole enjoyed it, ports were ok, show’s good – in keeping with what one would expect, just a tad overcrowded. I would not book on this ship again, nor would I advise others to do so.
