Not what we were lead to believe

How disappointing when you have waited since 2020, had your itinerary changed 3 times and the cost increased by £2300 after being loyal with your cruise club. We were so looking forward to being treated so differently from a ‘ordinary’ holiday but were so let down (as were a lot of other seasoned passengers). Food was Ok but not as good as expected (I know it is not easy to do mass catering) but as a simple example at breakfast time the toast could not be cut with a knife it had to be broken and then it crumbled, also the bacon was not cooked as well as it should be. Restaurant availability was difficult with staff saying no places but wait for 40 mins only to get in the restaurant (sharing) and find lots of spaces/tables that were never used. Room could have been cleaned a lot better and stains on the mattress cover. Offers on the ‘Horizon’ sheet (for nails to be done/coloured) were not what it said on the sheet i e, offer of £19 for nails to be done and choice of colour were actually only to be cleaned and no colour applied unless you paid £45. Very cool temp on ship (possibly due to air change requirements) but never the less made it uncomfortable when sitting in a venue. Requested a shirt to be washed/ironed and told it would be complimentary only to be charged to my account. On a better note the ships entertainment team were absolutely fantastic as were a lot of the acts and shows, pity the restaurant let them down. A number of experienced passengers told us that we had probably picked the wrong ship as there own experience on other P&O ships was far better than Britannia. Embarkation very good but disembarkation very poor and chaos with wheelchair bound passengers trying to retrieve their cases but causing real problems (not there fault, needs a better procedure putting in place).
